The Plattsburgh Community Garden Group exists to create an allotment style community garden/s that build community, provide an enjoyable and safe place to grow crops, gather as friends, and learn the techniques of successful gardening. In its first year, the Plattsbugh Community Garden Group established an allotment style garden in the city limits at Melissa Penfield Park, provided each of our 32 gardeners with access to water, community tools, and some assistance with soil preparation and garden planning in exchange for a modest $25 fee.

We're well on our way to growing the number of plots we can offer in 2010 and encourage you to be a Community Garden Plot Gardener - Sign up HERE (Full for 2010).

Even the smallest garden plot can provide a family with an ample supply of fresh, locally grown vegetables; lowering family food costs, providing healthier and tastier meals and snacks and, reducing the carbon emissions needed transport their food to the table.
